Quick Tip: Kid-friendly housekeeping
I am a huge fan of everything wipes: Clorox wipes, Pledge wipes, Windex wipes—you name it! I know it’s not the best for the environment. I even know that it is not the most economical choice. So, why are they still a household favorite?
My kids clean! How rewarding is it to have your three year old volunteer to clean her dinner chair, the dining room table, and all the other dining chairs! The little one will trot over to the cabinet, pull out a wipe, and work hard at the job for 15 minutes or more, then toss the dirty wipe in the trash. No messy spray bottles involved (can you imagine a three year old with a spray bottle of even the safest cleaner?)
My son loves to clean the bathroom counters. My daughter has volunteered to clean the outside of the toilet. They both love to clean the glass on our sliding door (they actually fight over it, but that’s an issue we’ll tackle another day). And dusting is a favorite past time.
I’m not exaggerating. Wipes have made these household tasks not only kid-friendly but kid-appealing because they can decide to do the job all on their own, and they can finish the chore without any help from Mommy. To me, that is priceless!
I’ll save the world another way, but the wipes are staying.
